I pretend
It is strange that we all claim to be ourselves, yet we walk around wearing a mask. Many of us know that we are wearing a mask. The sad part is many of us are unaware that we are wearing a mask. Would you want to drop it?I’m deceived
There are some of us who can recognize the mask on another person readily. And we despise the other person. Yet we fail to realize that we recognize the mask because we once wore it or still do wear it.I need help
If you recognize that you pretend or are deceived, then you recognize that you need help. If you have read this post so far and do not realize your need yet, you should just ignore this post. The solution
There is no bigger relief than the fact that we are imperfect but are saved by one who is perfect. The gospel when believed and practised helps us drop our masks. Start now by talking to someone.
Nothing that we despise in other men is inherently absent from ourselves. We must learn to regard people less in the light of what they do or don’t do, and more in light of what they suffer.Dietrich Bonhoeffer
You may have been wearing your mask for a very long time. In fact it may be that most people who know you, only know your stage life. They have not known the man or woman behind the mask.
Freedom is being able to walk around never wondering if you are on stage or off. Are the cameras on or off. Freedom is wonderful.
But freedom comes at a cost. Your mask has got stuck to your face. It will peel off of you with difficulty.
Are you willing to pull off the mask? Would you trust the healing power of the gospel?
Have you dropped a mask before? Leave a comment describing how you managed to do so.
